I have the superclamp but the stud on the superclamp is horizontal. The clamp on the flash doesn't seem to hold tight enough to support the weight when it's mounted in anything other than a vertical position. I'm surprised there is not a super clamp with a vertical stud option.

Here's one inexpensive solution: https://www.manfrotto.com/us-en/mini-extension-arm-for-mini-clamp-203/

Or, you could just weld or braze up a quick little right angle adapter custom for your application.

Why are you set on the Autopole? I try to KISS and use the right tool for the job. A basic light stand won't work?

lack of floor space in the area it's going into.
