I'm primarily a landscape shooter but now and then I enjoy making bird/wildlife photographs when the opportunity presents itself. On a trail walk along Florida's Gulf Coast I was delighted to find this beautiful Egret resting in one of the photogenic coastal trees, and I quickly handheld a Pentax 645Z with 45-85mm zoom to compose the image. Later in Lightroom development I realized that a black & white conversion made this photo stronger and added something special to the feel that the color version lacked.

Thank you! I agree it would be ideal to have more trunk showing; it was messy below this with various other limbs so I cropped to preserve the aesthetic simplicity of the best and cleanest section of the tree.
