In search for a location near enough to avoid the tedious marathon drives and overnight stays, I have found this secluded bay earlier this summer. While still being close to the light pollution behemoth that Tokyo is, the spot is decent for night skies. It definitely helps that the ocean is to the south and it's a long way from here to Papua New Guinea.

Total integration time was about 90 minutes
5x4 panels for the sky, 1x4 foreground - Voigtländer 50mm APO F2 on Sony a7iii

The trawler is the bright light at the horizon. Because it was moving and the exposure long, it turned into a light trail. That's also why a fairly large part of the clouds were illuminated from below.

Was thinking of focus stacking but got too tired by the time I got to the foreground. Not having tack sharp foregrounds is usually not a big deal in astro, but I stilll think there is some room for improvement here. Will probably try it out next time with some coffeine as support.
