Sometimes nature is less beautiful and flexes her muscle. I was at Lake Powell when this flash flood happened in July.
Walked over to see if there were any waterfalls during the rainstorm and this is what met me.
Picture first, but I recommend watching the video too. My daughter is the narrator and we made a mildly daring escape as the riverbank was being eroded away.

Crazy...
Neat Vid... I am glad you guys are safe and sound.
You often hear about these and how they sweep people away. I can see from your video how easily if one is not paying attention or does not believe in the power of nature how things can go horribly wrong.

Thanks to both. This is one canyon east of Antelope Canyon, where a flash flood killed 11 people in 1997. Navajo is wide compared to Antelope. I can only imagine how quickly the water would rise and how fast it could move.

Scary. The flash floods this summer were no joke. I was there in spring and it was super dry. Should be a good super bloom next spring. Bob
