I did this image shortly after the towers fell on Sept 11, 2001. The image was originally taken somewhere around 1980 from the Staten Island ferry. The image was of such poor quality due to the hazy conditions and my newness to photography I just never bothered with it.
The day the towers fell I had such a sense of lost and anger that I wondered if I had any images of the towers and found this one I'd take back in the early 80's. I then edited it until if reflected my feelings I had at that time.
I wanted to come up with something that represented the grit and determination of a nation that would not fall, but rise. May we never forget.
I now have this (Dark Tuesday) printed, framed, and hanging in my work office. May all who lost love ones that day find solace.
