I've been finding the focal point positioned at the top of the viewfinder vs near the middle where I have it set. Using the multi-selector I drag it back down and release but the focal point immediately hops back up to the top. Only solution I found was to turn off the camera and then back on. At that point the A1 works normally for a while but again reverts to this condition at some point during the soccer match. I though it had to do with how I was holding or grabbing the A1+100-400 (2nd body) so for the match last night I swapped the Meike grip with the Sony grip I use on the other A1+400. Same problem now on the A1+400+Meike. It got so bad that in the middle of the match I remove the Meike grip all together. Sure enough didn't have one problem the rest of the night.
So on two different bodies the same odd behavior. That's all the convincing I needed and this morning I picked up another Sony grip. Meike headed to the round file!

I have never found 3rd party grips worth the lower quality they provide. You can find new US model OEM grips on line for less than $250. Worth every extra penny.

Up until this issue, I've never had a problem with any of my other Meike grips used on the A9s, & A7R3 but this experience has put into view what can happen. Doubt seriously I'll purchase another.
