Any suggests for lighting equipment for event shoots, currently I do carry Westcott FJ 400 and 80. Is there any even light weight options apart from softbox with speed lights and strobes

For events you might like long lasting battery power - if you have no A/C that is. This can partially be achieved by using only a touch of fill - rather than full power all the time. Depends on what event, and what the needs and individual style are.

No idea about the Westcott units since I haven't used them, but I'm currently using lightweight Godox/Flashpoint AD200s almost exclusively for mobile shooting (fill style not blasting)... and my go to lightweight wind resistant aerodynamic modifiers are Westcott Halo Monos (I have 45" & (vintage) 30" ones and alternate options of diffused beauty dishes or reflectors for high wind). I also use Godox/Flashpoint Li-on speed light type flashes - V860II and V1 in S-Mount brackets - tons of flashes without hardly ever even having to change the battery! I'll pop one of those in a 7" reflector for hair/rim lighting. I can self carry most of my setups in one pass, (up to 3 lights & stands along with the camera etc.) making it pretty portable. But for true photojournalist event coverage - you're more likely to have one light - no stands. A hotshoe light with a bounce reflector, is all you get/need sometimes. Depends on the job - depends on the shooter.

Have you tried using umbrellas? They are as compact and light as it gets with many sizes to choose from and they’re cheap.
If you wanna diffuse more try using them as a brolly box with diffusion panels. Or use a shoot-through.
Most better lights will take an umbrella directly!

I've been using 7 feet westcott umbrellas as well, yes you're right. Umbrellas are always gets you best shorts.

thanks for your response, I'm on Westcott echo system now, may be I'll look at Westcott FJ200 which is comparable with Godox.

Since I use Godox, it has been AD200s though their LCDs are hard to see outside. I don't use umbrellas, they are more pain. Foldable softboxes are cheap now a days. Hard reflectors are also useful. All depends on what you plan to shoot.
