An image from winter when we had a migratory ducks. Buffleheads are my fav. but we don't get them here as much, very skittish and often far.

A1 600f.4 GM + 2X TC (1200mm) f/8 1/3200sec ISO-1600. Handheld. processed with C1P. Hope you like it

actually been here since 2008, some great images posted here too, I enjoy looking at them, I only wish there were thumbnails

And the critiques now are much-softened versus a few years ago. Receiving honest -- and sometimes harsh -- feedback facilitates improvement, but it's really hard to get constructive input these days because most outlets have turned into nothing more than back-patting fanclubs, FM included. There's some solid photography on this board, but the lack of honest image deconstruction is frustrating; I'm seeing board members making the exact same mistakes as they did five years ago because no one is willing to say, "I think you should reexamine this practice and do it differently." Arash and I have had some epic clashes on BPN, but I think it has made us both better photographers. I know his input has shaped my shooting since we've been communicating.
