p.2 #4 · p.2 #4 · Carrying an A7C Off Road (mountain biking and motorcycling) | |
Usually I carry everything in a backpack. The specific backpack depends on what camera(s) I'm carrying. The a7C + 40mm G fits in an OR (Outdoor Research) soft cube which fits in an Osprey Syncro 20 along with a 2L reservoir, tools, food, jacket, etc.
I've collected a pile of random semi-rigid drone sized cases. Search amazon for "hard case with foam" and you'll be amazed what pops up for less than $25. I'm not talking about Pelican cases. Semi-rigid zippered boxes like what most monolights come packed in. These can accommodate an a7/a9 body and most mid size zooms.
The RX100M7 is goes in a small semi-hard Lowepro Dashpoint 40 case. This is my "crash resistant" kit. It's also by far the smallest and easiest to carry.
To cover races I'm carrying the a9 + 70-180mm in a short Kinesis C380 holster, RX100, flash and everything else in an Osprey Talon 26. That bag snugly fits a 100-400 in a medium holster too.
When I'm actively shooting and just moving short distances between locations, I'll put the holster on a chest harness. I can ride gingerly wearing the chest rig but would not want to do a face plant on top of it.
