Do you spend more time decorating your Sony gear than using it to make photography? This is the right thread for you. I think it'd be pretty sweet if everyone posts the accessories they use on their Sony body or lens for protection, ergonomics and aesthetics. Please post the link on where you purchased the accessory and a brief summary if possible.
I have had a few RX1Rii cases. This is the nicest fitting and highest quality leather. It has a small protrusion to provide a little grip, but the grip doesn't stick out like Lim's case.
Even though the EVF on the RX1Rii is functional, it's small and inconvenient to pop out. I found a good deal on this OVF on ebay and jumped on it. To me it's so much fun to use. First you can compose without turning on the camera. The FDA-V1K is so big and bright optically, even the latest A7/A9 EVFs don't match the view you get. It's a gorgeous piece of glass. It also works on A7c.
Lousy photo but I’m happy with the 3M vinyl for the 200-600 and Tamron 70-180.
I tried the Lenscoat for the Fuji 100-400 and the fit was so-so and added bulk.
Will go with vinyl from here on out.
I'll take a better picture tomorrow, but honestly the only thing I do to my camera body other than Peak Design Anchor Links is to put tape over the Sony logo. I just find it's a much cleaner look.
Skin it. Case it. Serves a practical purpose too as it protects the cam and firms up the grip. Leather half case has saved my cameras from a few drops.
A paint pen, I think the brand was posca, but cannot remember, sorry.
The good thing about the pen is you can choose the felt tip size so it's easy to paint only in the debossed area. Any paint not in the logo is easily removed anyway with a little solvent.
I also paint the white details around the filter thread of lenses that will be close to reflective items, my Sony 28/2 has all the front lettering blacked out with the same method.
The young guys here love the look and call it 'murdering out' the camera.
These kids today, oh well.
Wow, I LOVE the silver skin on the A7. I've always wanted a Leica, Fuji, or SLR with a silver top, will have to grab it.

Not decorating so much, but to make the gear more practical. On Sony A7RIV body I add PD anchors for a PD leather wrist strap, not shown, a half leather case that is a bit unusual in that it has a Arca Swiss aluminum rail built-in and I darken the Sony logo with a black sharpie pen. The BolinUS case does add a bit of weight, 5.5 oz, and adds 14mm in height, but it really stiffens up the camera and provides a more secure grip. Got at Amazon for $39.99.
For the Zeiss Batis 85 and 135mm lenses I bought 1" high screw on metal hoods that stay permanently mounted, the original lens cap fits inside. Just added the Sigma 65mm I F2 lens, not shown, to this kit. As the 4 lenses shown are all 67mm filter thread, I bought 62mm to 67mm step-up ring and the same 67mm 1" high metal lens hood for the Sigma, so all now 5 primes use the same 67mm filters Still plan on carrying just 4 lenses most times. The Sigma 65mm will replace the Batis 85mm for general, city and travel shooting, the Batis will be used when specifically shooting portraits.
