It looks like I have several hawks nesting or hanging out in my neighborhood. The 1st couple of images, the hawk landed on my gate column and just let me snap some shots. The rest are from behind the house, they were calling out a lot. One sounded like a crow that smoked 2 packs a day for 20 years, the others had screeching sounds. Teh woodpecker was in the area as well. Lizard shot was from a couple days ago.. just warming up in the morning sun.

Great images. Seems to be blood on the hawk's right talon, possibly from a recent kill?

Many thanks all. I hope to capture some more shots when the weather / rain clears out. I've heard the hawks calling out for the past week and didn't have a chance to photograph them. Maybe this coming week will be different?

One the 1st shots about a week ago, he/she just sat in a tree in my backyard.
