I first saw this lovely flower here on the N&W forum many years ago. Of course it had a hummer feeding. I do believe it was a shot by Ted .

I have been trying for a few years to get the crocosmia to grow in my garden. Finally , I found the spot they like.
I was rewarded with one hummer who showed up and liked it.

As always your nits, and comments are most appreciated .

Wonderful shots, I have friends that have spectacular Crocosmias that are kind enough to let me lurk in their garden to try to catch the Hummers. Great combination of birds and flowers.

Great shots Birdie. The things grow like weeds around here. I've got three different varieties growing in the yard. However my yard is frequented by deer who like the crocosmia even more than the hummers. Therefore it is a race to see if the deer eat the flowers first or if I get a few shots of the hummers feeding before the deer wander through and find them

Beautiful set of images, Birdie. The crocosmia shown is referred as "Lucifer tongue" and grows well here in Oregon and yes the little hummingbirds absolutely love this flower! Great captures !

Beauties Birdie. We also have Montbretia in our garden. The hummers have not been at ours during this historic heat wave and when they do, they like to hide on the opposite side.
