First time back in Kananskis Country this year. For those of you not familiar with this area in Alberta, the road to this area is blocked off from December 1 to June 15 each year. This is a series of natural area parks in the mountains that is very popular with locals. Tourists go to Banff, but locals prefer Kananaskis Country. Area is just as beautiful, but is more wild. Lots of grizzlies and big horn sheep in the area. One of my favourite areas to go to photograph pikas and ground squirrels. Hope you enjoy the images. All pictures taken on June 26, 2021.

Gordon - Pika are so much fun to shoot. Glad to see you enjoy them also. Great set. Growing up we called them whistle pigs. Maybe that's just a nickname for them where I live. Enjoyed these very much.

Thanks Greg! I agree, the pikas are always a joy to photograph. Never heard them referred to as whistle pigs, but they are sometimes referred to as rock rabbits.

Thanks Tony! Now that I'm back to work, looking at picking up a Canon mirrorless (maybe the R5) in the next year or so, but will hobble along with the 7D2 until then

Thanks Morris! Tony is just kidding around about the 7D2. He knows that it is more about the photographer than the gear.

I had my flight and everything booked last year and then COVID hit.
