p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Weaseled my way in into capturing some fast actions | |
When I first captured some weasel actions, I really thought 1/2000sec would be sufficient to do so. To may surprise, the fast weasel speed resulted in some blurriness due to the fast movement, which would be fine for the hind part but not for the head/eyes. Plus, the lighting was a tad too harsh that morning. So, I went out there again the second time around on an overcast morning according to the weather forecast.
From time to time, the weasel would stop in its track for a brief period before taking off again. Although the difference in ISO as the result between 1/2000 sec and 1/4000 sec is not that dramatic but every little bit would maximize the output. So, I setup my gear to change the shutter speed instantaneously by pushing a different AF button. In other words, I would like to use 1/4000 sec to capture the movement and 1/2000 sec for when the weasel stayed semi-stationary. In hindsight, I should have set the second shutter speed to 1/1000 sec. Oh, well, I am not going back there for a 3rd time . The speed drive was 15fps for the moving weasel images.
