Since 2020 I've preordered 3 systems of bodies and lenses. Fuji, Sony, Canon from BH. I got every single thing on day 1 including the R5, A1, 100-500, all the harder to get items. The only thing I did not get on day one is the 100 macro which is suppose to ship tonight but so far nada.

Sounds like a nice track record so far! Unfortunately items are getting increasingly harder to find, Good luck getting the 100mm macro. I love using it so far and I am sure you will too.

Similar situation here in the Netherlands, my preorder that I put in a few minutes after it went live at the #2 online retailer didn't get picked for the first batch. But store.canon.nl suddenly showed to have stock late at night and I ordered it. Two days later UPS dropped it off. I like it very much, it behaves like a much closer focussing RF100-500 and as a bonus, my copy is sharper than my EF100L!

Well, i broke down and added an R6, and of course i also ordered the RF 100 mm USM Macro IS lens, while a little pricey, the extra 1.4 magnification being the driving reason. The R6 has landed, but Adorama is telling me i MIGHT get the lens before years end 😢. Only consolation is my current EF 100 Macro IS works well with the darned adapter!

Bah humbug… Come on Canon!

Good news .. somehow I never noticed. Makes me feel like I got a litter extra for my investment now. Hadn't really looked closely enough before to notice. After reading your reply, I grabbed my control ring adapter for a close look, and the gasket is certainly there.

Just got my RF 100mm L IS Macro from Amazon. Said they had one in stock with more on the way. Ordered Wednesday, got it Friday.

Lighter than I thought and it takes a 67mm filter (Naturally I have a 77, a 58, and a 52 sitting around) I will put a filter on this as the front element is really close to the front and the first time I used it I actually poked my subject while trying to see how close i could get. Glad it wasn't a rock. It seems to hunt a lot when you are at the closest focus point, and it hunts in low light (more than my other RFs) when not being used for macro. Works nice as a portrait lens too. Haven't fooled with the SA yet.

Watch out ... I had similar with the 24-105, hence ending with two of that range, and now my wife does not care for it - rather use a P&S for that range, since now in addition to the 100macro she likes the 100-400 too ( she sets a limit of 3 lenses max to carry) - my 16-35 f/4 was also abducted

That's the result of bringing her into the hobby - on the bright side, I now have potentially 3 extra lenses that I don't have to carry when we go out shoot together

How long are people waiting for their backordered RF 400 f/2.8? I would rather not pay the tax, and wait till my camera shop gets one. It has been over two months now, not that I’m complaining.
