That's such a shame about the RF 100L. Thinking of picking up the RF 85/2 STM. On the R7 I will have the extra working distance, which is great for shooting butterflies and dragonflies, etc, especially in low light.

Edit: and it's going back. Didn't read up enough in the focus shift issue, and in my testing, it's a deal breaker. Very close up, it wasn't an issue. Beyond about 6-7 feet. It's also not a problem, but from moderate closeup (which I do a lot of, with butterflies and such), as well as head and shoulders portrait distances, stopping down moves the central focus notably behind where you focused. It's really not acceptable for a lens of this price point, and it's really a shame, because it has lovely bokeh, and is razor sharp corner to corner when focused properly. ...Show more →
