Um, I'm sort of afraid to ask, but for the sake of cultural understanding and the like, do you know what the sign is advertising for?

I believe it is "anime" and/or a magazine?

I saw advertising like this on my many trips to Japan!

Don't know what they are advertising, if it is even an advertiser, but scantily dressed young women in "anime" are popular in Japan. Beppu city on the island of Kyushu is known for its natural hot springs. While my wife was in a natural spring bath house that specializes in covering customers in hot mud, I was walking around the neighborhood photographing. The building behind the sign was a nondescript building, it might come alive in the evening as often is the case in Japan. There were many bars and cafes around the area.

I like how the "real legs" enhance the advertising sign. Great eye!

My many trips to Japan years ago remind me that I did see a magazine with "Non Non" on the cover.

I am not sure what the "real legs" were doing, I can't remember if I walked over to see, or maybe I don't want to remember. There are "Non No" fashion magazines on the magazine racks and there is a large independent magazine and book market in Japan too so I would not be surprised with a "Non Non" magazine too. I travel to Japan frequently too but not since the pandemic. As an old tech nerd I have some sorrow at what has happened to places like Akihabara where much of the electronic goods/parts/gear/etc have been replaced by anime games, plastic models (usually scantily dressed girls), posters, and books. I seldom go to "Akiba" now-a-days versus it being one of my former haunts in my younger days.

The legs make this image. Well done.

I must be just too old. I new the drawings were anime, I was wondering what they were advertising. I guess they were advertising anime? I guess sexy cartoons aren't new, we had Roger Rabbit's girlfriend and Betty Boop Do they like Bill Murray over there?
