Thanks all for comments and feedback. Re. Morris, I'd note the camera and lens will need a raincoat too (perhaps more than me! ). For Bob, I'm not sure the physics of signal/noise can be overcome beyond a point, even with today's advanced sensors (the A9ii images above were processed with Topaz Denoise AI, but you need a decipherable image to start with . For NVM, the AF is awesome and I'm on the hi rez A1 train, so I get you. I'm just noting the use case where it starts to break down, which is especially relevant to the bird and nature photographers (which is why I have asked the Q here, not the 'general gear' forum, with apologies to 'Imagemaster'
