I was searching for a generic lens collar/foot that I could possibly adapt to the LA-EA5 to support my Minolta 100-400mm or 500mm Reflex on a gimbal or monopod, and was pleasantly surprised to find that iShoot makes one especially for it.

I've got to hand it to them; they make a lot of interesting adapters that are obviously too specialized for the mainstream companies like RRS and Kirk to bother making.

(Haven't got it yet, but I've had other collars from them and found them to be acceptable quality, so expect this to be the same.)

UPDATED - It arrived and it's going back. Very flimsy and not sturdy enough to trust.

thank you for sharing! this seems like it would be handy to have with the 135 ZA, that lens is scary on a tripod

Thought I should update this post, now that the tripod foot has arrived.

Unfortunately, it is not satisfactory. The metal used for the collar is obviously not strong enough (or there is simply not enough of it) as the whole thing flexes noticeably when I'm turning the zoom ring on the lens, or grabbing the camera to aim it. Probably OK for light-duty use, but I'd never feel comfortable carrying it while on a monopod, where I'd like to be able to put it over my shoulder when walking.

Now to see if I can get the seller to take it back.

Mike, try SRB. They build custom tripod feet of nearly any dimension. They are very strong (but a bit heavy).
