My bet is that these lenses are going to be small and very good optically (including rendering) in a way that goes beyond how the 35-55-85/1.8 lenses are small and good. Otherwise, they have no point and no market.
Going to a 2.5 or 2.8 apertures buys Sony a lot of design room, and I think they will use it to deliver something that the market wants.
If the lenses are both high quality (in build/optics/rendering) and small, I'm in and I won't think twice about the aperture (and I like large apertures--but horses for courses).
Personally, I find noise much less of a problem than it used to be. Noise programs like DXO's Prime and Deep Prime and the Topaz offerings work extremely well. I'd take high quality and small lenses and give up a half-stop or so. Especially if they are sharp from wide open.

I suspect you're right, that they will be small and good. Since using the Sigma 45/2.8, I must admit that I'm less concerned about a fast normal lens than I used to be. Getting deeper DOF for things like portraits or closeups means that I'm even at f/4 a lot, and I don't worry so much about ISO.
Honestly, shooting Sony right now is a bit overwhelming in terms of lenses...there are so many good ones and I swear I want to buy half of them
You could give me any of the following prime lenses, in any of the focal lengths, and I'd be able to easily make do. They're all top notch and better than most lenses I could have bought even 5 or 6 years ago...and this isn't even touching zooms!
Batis 18
Sony 20G
Loxia & CV 21
Sony 24 GM & Sigma 24 I
Loxia & Batis 25
Sony 35, Sony 35 GM, Sigma 35 A, Sigma 35 I, CV 35 & 35 APO
Batis & CV 40
Sigma 45 I
Sony 50 ZA, Sony 50 GM, CV 50 & 50 APO
CV & Sigma 65
CV 75
Sony 85, Sony 85 GM, Sigma 85 A, Batis 85
Sony 90 Macro
Sony 100 STF
Sigma 105 A Macro
Sony 135 GM, Batis 135
All of those are best in class or close to it. I'm not sure my already limited ability to make lens decisions can handle Sony adding in more solid 'G' lenses to the selection of possible choices...
