Slightly on the slower side, but still quite decent, and slightly larger and heavier than you may want (but certainly moderate compared to the Sigma 28/1.4), my 28 of choice is the Zeiss ZE 28/2 with Sigma MC-11 adapter.
To get a beautiful rendering, small size, and moderate aperture, I love my Loxia 25/2.4 (more like 26mm). I frequently shoot buildings and scenery with a slight tilt of the camera up, so when I straighten with resulting side cropping to more 4:3 format, the lens comes in around 28mm+. Beautiful rendering and color, even wide open, but really shines in all departments at f/5.6-8.0 on 61 MP sensor. Used prices now near the new price of a 7Artisans 28/1.4, which seems quite inferior IQ-wise, even though it is faster.
At this time, if one wants excellent image quality at f/1.4 there seem two choices: Sigma 28/1.4 Art or Zeiss Otus 28/1.4. (I know nothing about Leica in the 28/1.4 range, other than it probably makes the Otus look very affordable! )
Looking forward to what you find out if you try the 7Artisans.
