Disclaimer: sorry about the constant hit and miss lately! I have literally been working 18 hour+ days with the Gallery(s) post processing work deadlines, and The Ultimate Mastering Fine Art Printmaking Workshop in Vegas with Robert Park. I came back home to being 4 weeks behind on emails! And about 1000 total communications! I can't wait for the workshop season to open up this year so I can get out and about!!! I need it! But, no real complaints here. I get to do what I love for a living and it forces me to push my skill sets into the stratosphere. For that I have to have major, major gratitude!!! I’m just saying if I come and go… the is why.

Outstanding neon colors and digital art!
Hmmm, neon colors and digital art? That could be interpreted a lot of ways. But you said “outstanding”so thank you very much!!! On my calibrated I might not call them neon, but then again mother nature produces some pretty awesome light. All the best, and thank you.

You're really getting these shots nailed down solid, Mark. Great work. I like the clean lines in the center of the image. Colors are perfect as well.
Thank you very much Johan! I’m certainly putting in the hours of hard (but so pleasurable) work! Even having shot tens of thousands of images over the year, every time I go out I am learning new tips and tricks. It is a great learning curve to keep me interested. And the possabilities are endless!

I like your first line. What passion! Thanks for sharing these and your helpful hints.
Love it
Very few things are as exhilarating to me as panning my camera with the golden hour light that dances on the roaring rolling swells of the sublime Florida coastline! 🌊 Yeah that is my life for sure! I just can't understand why thousands of photographers are not out there doing the same! It is pure joy tracking great light, water and movement! It is my pleasure to share what Ican. I hope it helps!

absolutely stunning, Mark.
But, how do you cull through so many variations?

I just do it, it's my job! But more than that it is my passion. I sit down and make enough basic adjustments to make sure I can see the value of every shot. Then after that I carefully rate them. Later I will come back to all the higher rated ones and do it again with them. Then finally, maybe on another day, or week, I will find one that just speaks to me… Then it all starts over again as I do full careful test runs on the image, so I do not have to feel the pressure to get it right from the beginning. Basically see how the file handles and what rendering best relays the light and experience I had shooting it. Once I have a good grasp with several test runs. On a different day when I feel inspired, I will go for it. And those 32-bit Raw on Raw Adobe Layers are absolutely a game changer on the possibilities of quality never before attainable! That gets me jacked up! These shots can easily be 96”, 120”, 80”, 72” pints with great detail! That jacks me up! Especially when I make the enlargement! So, the heart of an artist and work ethic of an athlete or military person. I combine them. I believe I have to make a living at this, and to have had for over 15 years now. As Iam typing this I worked an 18 hour day followed by working all yesterday, and pulling an all nighter! I’ll likely get some nap in today, but I started almost 24 hours ago…

Thank you for the panning explanation. Very artistic!
Mypleasure! The key is to experiment like crazy, dont get in a rut, and constantly challenge yourself to try new things. I have about 10-20 techniques I am now using. My “Florida Dreamscapes, Waves, Waterways and Post Processing Workshop over booked so quick I am contemplating doing a second one this year. People really want to learn how to do this, and of course chill out at the beach in paradise!

lovely colours Mark
Thank you so much! I’m really making an effort to grab the shots right in the epicenter of the light or color as often as I can. Seems to make for better images sometimes.

Awesome shot Mark. I'm interested in your post-processing methods. I might have some questions for you after I explore your youtube and other material in the public domain.
Do you use something like the TK7 panel for luminosity masking or another extension?
Huge thank you!!! Some pretty famous pro emailed me and asked me how I was doing this and said they had been trying to do exactly what I’m doing for like 10+ years or something. So, I don't know, sometimes you stumble on an incredible idea or a take on ideas that are out there and you innovate/pionier forward. I have innovated some processing techniques that are out of the norm that are literally game changers in terms of how these can be huge, sharp and clean enlargements with unbelievable quality. Took my about a year to figure it out. I am only teaching my workshop folks (with an NDA filled out) that stuff. Totally unorthodox stuff, not a push button software.
No, I find no need for the panels. If I want a luminosity mask, I make my own 32-bit masks by an action I created in Photoshop (I've been doing this forever). There are so many ways to mask, in 99% of the cases I use other methods that are easier like color channel masking, and the Layer Style “Blend If” sliders. I very rarely use my Luminosity masks. In most cases there are much better and easier ways to do it. It's my feeling that the panels were really cool when they made Photoshop a lot easier. But IMO the panels themselves have gotten so complicated, I find basic Photoshop skills, especially in 32-bit Raw, superior, much easier, more flexible, more powerful and much more lossless. If you have questions, maybe PM me…
