p.2 #5 · p.2 #5 · Why should I get the new Sony 35 1.4 G master for weddings | |
I understand you switched to Sony from Canon and that is based on personal preference. Similar to others posting above, I have shot weddings with zooms and primes - together and alone.
The B&G or similar couple will never know the difference on what lens I choose to shoot with.
With that understanding, I will select the tool of choice to fit the mood of the couple and what flare I choose to use at that wedding. If it's a small/simple wedding, I sometimes find myself challenging the norm and making it harder, by choosing a lens that I might not usually use. Where-as a larger wedding where there is more going on, I might select a zoom or a lens that makes my life easier. If the wedding is inside with poor lighting, I'll use a faster lens. If the wedding is outside in full sun, a less fast lens can work out.
I learned a long time ago, It's not just one lens at a wedding, it's being able to select from my tool bag of many lenses and having fun doing what I do.
Will this lens be better than that lens?
Nope, they all work together or apart. Always have extra, just in case.
