Just for fun.

Sigma 24/3.5, 35/2 and 65/2 DG DN lenses wide open:
(In retrospect, I should have brought my 45/2.8 as well...)

The rendering of the 35 looks great!

Disregard the EV setting since it was not intentional for many of the images. However, on the A7R IV, I found it does not make much of a difference: Higher ISO or lower EV looks similar when normalized.
The images are pretty much out of the camera with sharpening added and minimal exposure control. (Adobe Color profile used and no correction for vignetting, distortion or CA)

Just curious - I read somewhere you used metering mode: highlights plus 2 EV. What are you using now on the RIV for most cases?

Yes, I do like ETTR for better shadow detail, especially when shooting landscapes. Depending on the lighting contrast, I usually add from 1.3 to 2 EV to the scene. (combined with metering: 'Highlight')

Heh. The 35mm seems like the perfect focal length for "car portraits". Is that your car? I remember you've used it as model before. She's a beauty.

Damn. I might just have to get the Siggy 35 as well, to get a consistent look with my 24 and 65.

The 35 definitely looks the best to my eyes for the car shots. Nice subject/background separation. Just the right amount of DOF. Nice rendering too. Hmmm.

I like the car! I have a soft spot for Chevy muscle...One of my good friends growing up got a '66 Chevelle SS396 for his 16th birthday and we'd all chip in for gas and go cruising.

I know all three shots were intended to be taken from the same position, but back up a few feet, and that 65mm may give the 35mm a run for its money relative to separation, rendering, and dof.

A couple from a drive around some more rural parts of Connecticut yesterday.

All with Sigma 24mm/3.5 DG DN I Series and A7RIV

The Farm was taken at f/20 by mistake but even with diffraction, it renders nicely.

I really like the colors of images in this thread. Is that how they look from camera or are you all using significant (and similar) post processing?

I think you are seeing the nice rendering that these lenses produce right out of the camera. I don't tweak the colors in my images. I may adjust the white balance if needed and some contrast, tone, and highlights/shadows as needed.

The Sigma 65i and 35i pair well together. Used them to document my daughters birthday...the lenses never got in the way of enjoying the day, packed away neatly in my PD 5L sling, and the output is great. That's what these lenses are all about.

Interesting lighting and color saturation Fred.

I’m tempted to overthrow my CV 65 but value its close focusing. Guess my almost as compact but lightweight Sony 85mm F1.8 will have to stand in for the Sigma 65.

I'm thinking of selling my FE 85/1.8 and just keeping the 2 65's.

Went out with my family this Valentines Day. Great weather on a frozen sea. Took my new 65mm with me. Sure is one nice rendering and razor sharp lens. (Images are edited.)

If you do decide to sell one of them can I buy it off you?
