Here are a dozen shots of some local Mandarin Ducks, the most colorful ducks in our area. Light was low each time I went but I think they came out ok!

Terrific set, Bob! Love that last one - I knew they spent some time in trees, but never actually saw them there. Glad you were able to see and shoot that behavior.

Thanks Fred, I learned she’ll make a nest in the tree, the eggs will hatch, and the chicks will jump down before they can fly!

This is indeed quite a good set. #8 would be my fave. I do notice a hint of softness throughout, perhaps from the teleconverter. They are still excellent, and you may not have gotten the shots at all without the extra reach.

Wow-those are some really gaudy ducks. Beautiful colors on the males-the eye ring on the females looks a lot like a female Wood Duck. Great set.

Nice....like shooting ducks in a.....
They are such handsome looking birds....seeing a grouping like that must have been very cool.

Thank you, most of these were quite high ISO so the noise reduction probably caused that.

Thank you, they're originally from Asia but seem to have been imported and released here.
