I posted this in the B&W forum, and thought I would post the color version here. I hope nobody minds. Waiting for a free meal from a nearby fisherman, this heron let me get about 10 feet away with my tripod. When he heard the high pitch beep of the 2 second shutter delay, he froze.

Nice photo. Herons habituated to people [food] often do come in search of free meals. It's rather sad but at the same time makes for an easy photography target. A tame heron looks the same as a wild one
