p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Wood Ducks

It has been a treat getting close to the usually shy wood ducks in Kissena Park here in New York City. I took these about a month ago.

Great images with plenty of details of Mr. and Mrs. Woody, Morris!

Recently, I tried to take pictures of a Mandarin duck at a park. I left out of frustration since it stayed away, far away and didn’t bother to get close. An hour or so later, I walked by and I could hear some commotion at the water edge. A girl was feeding some ducks and the Mandarin was right there! I had to back a little from my position a little because it was even closer than the minimum focusing distance .

Thank you Joshua,
That's the way It can go. One time I had spent a full day out shooting and had very little to show for it. I was packing into my car when a great egret flew into the parking lot and parched on a nearby car. I took my camera back out, mounted my 180mm f2.8, flash and diffuser walked over and had a wonderful portrait session
