Hi everyone!

I hope you are doing well and taking great pictures without exposing yourselves to the ugly virus...

Weather here has been crazy after Eta as some days are beautiful and sunny and others like today, are rainy and boring.

In any case, I have had a good chance to escape from home a few times to photograph some of local species.

Thanks everyone who take the time to comment on my work.

This is among my top 5 tanagers in CR. Bay-headed Tanager taken with 5DIV and 600f/4

Same bird and gear as in previous shot, and I forgot to mention I was using fill flash.

Broad-billed Motmot, Sony a9ii and 600f/4 (Canon)

Emerald Tanager

Mottled Owl, All Canon gear.

The first is an excellent composition Juan. The leaves lead to the stunning Tanager that is well placed in the frame. I'm also fond of the third image as it's so well done.

The verticals don't fit on my 4k monitor. You might want to post a bit smaller :-}

The first tanager and the motmot images are my top picks out of the impressive set, Juan! While in Ecuador, I saw motmots just like what we saw in Costa Rica with you but those in Ecuador are easily double the size.

Yes I did that. Think about the people that are bandwidth limited.

Hey Amigo, good to see that you are able to go out and shoot even though you cannot lead any tours. We try and get out as much as we can too, but we don't have the colorful and exotic birds that you are blessed with in CR. I have very fond memories of the 2 trips we have done with you. Love the motmot! Stay safe and be well!

Unreal, those little birds look as if somebody had painted their feathers.

What lighting did you use para el buho? Just flash? Or did you help it with a torch light?
