p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · A Few Swans

I took my new Canon R6 and my old 500 F4 Ver I out for the first time this week. The swans are here but only a few snow geese, but the swans provided good target practice for my initiation in BIF with a mirrorless camera. I've got some learning to do and looks like I need to upgrade to a used 500 Ver II or a ver II 600 lens.

Thank you Morris.

This is my first photo post and it appears I should have chosen a larger (maybe 1000 pixel) long edge for my photos.

Thanks Again

Woody, are these over near Alligator River and Lake Mattamuskeet, or closer to you? My plans to get up there the past two years had to be scrapped due to unforeseen circumstances, so I'm all jealous. What a great experience.

Hi Sue,

This is over at Pungo Lake near Plymouth, northwest of Mattamuskeet. I haven't been to Mattamuskeet in a couple of years. I would like to get down there to see what the duck numbers look like. I love the area, its a 2 hour drive from home which makes it a doable long day trip. I generally go more often in spring to see the bears for some reason than I do in the winter. (Odd, I don't have to get up as early in the winter. Strange now that I think about it.) Add another hour to get to Alligator River (6 hours round trip driving) is pushing it for a day trip after spending time exploring the reserve.

I still haven't been out to Pea Island NWR on the Outer Banks. I need to bite the bullet and make a 2-3 day trip out and cover them all.

Sorry. didn't mean to ramble.
