In the last 10 months I have been locked at home, going out just a handful of times to take pictures risking myself as we all do every time we go out.
It's may be because I am getting tired of being at home for so long, that I am starting to feel like I am not afraid of the silly virus, not that I want to get it, just that, if it has to happen then it will happen.

Here are a few shots taken recently and others not so, please take your time to analyze them and let me know your honest feedback taking into account that I live in the neotropics, not a lot of light here. Some shots were taken at ridiculously slow shutter speeds yet they are tack sharp, thanks in part to my technique and also the magic of the new gear.

American Pygmy KF taken hand held with 5DIV and 840mm

Black-crested Coquette, 5DIV and 840mm on a tripod

Boat-billed Heron, A9II and 100-400II

Common Pauraque roosting. 5DIII and 600f/4 hand held from boat.

Long-billed Curlew, a real novelty in CR! are you ready for this? A9II+Sigma adapter+2XTC+600f/4Canon=1200mm!

White-throated Mountain-Gem, nope, this is not a set up! I was waiting for another bird when I saw this one coming to feed on the flower.

Gorgeous work Juan and I think it is you not the gear.

All beautiful but I love 2, e and the last. If I ever make it back to Costa Rica the coquette is definitely on my list

Quality set as usual Juan. The second is a stunning image of a very attractive bird. If you social distance when you are out shooting you should be OK.

1 & 4 were my favs.

Not to start a covid discussion, but it is not a silly virus and having a fear of it can be your best protection. And it does not have to happen.

So stay safe and don't get it.

It would be great to see you again in Costa Rica.
This hummingbird is not an easy one as it moves to the canopy where it finds its food part of the year.
