p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Running with a Camera - How to Secure Equipment

Apologies if this is getting posted on the wrong board.

I've started running and end up at some pretty scenic places during training. I've been wanting to bring a camera with me in my pack while I'm out on the mountain

I have a Sony A7III with some various inexpensive primes; my question is if there will be any alignment issues with lenses or sensor (since the camera has IBIS) if i bring the camera and a lens or two.

Any insight is appreciated!

A camera harness will keep the camera close to your body and out of the way of your arms. I love them when I hike and scramble and have run short distances with one. If you also ware a pack, the harness should go on first and then the pack. I've found this to be comfortable with a number of harnesses I've used. I've been using the OP/TECH USA Dual Harness, Uni-Loop, Regular (6501062) and it's the most comfortable I've owned and very well made. While it's made for two cameras it works well with one and is part of there connector system. I swap the harness for there OP/TECH USA Super Classic Strap - UNI Loop - Padded Neoprene Neck Strap with Control-Stretch System and Quick Disconnects.

If you are using a heavy lens, I suggest you find a way to attach to the lens rather than the camera body. Also consider two attachment points, one can simply be a backup incase something happens with the first.

Shop around for the best prices if you chose to go with this system.

Well you could have posted it on the correct forum: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/board/54

Even if the camera is glued to your body, it will still get the same bumping and jerking around as your body. I doubt anyone here is able to predict if such repeated shaking will or will not cause any alignment issues with your sensor.
