These images were captured last summer when the peregrine falcon chicks could fly already but it was still quite clumsy. A week later they were ready for some mid-air food transfers...

Mom just landed on the ledge, and she carried a kill with her. She looked around and called out to her chicks to join her for breakfast. It didn’t take long and one of the chicks showed up.

Great pictures as usual! hard to look at them as some point as I feel sorry for the sacrificed pigeon but life needs to go on for the falcons!

Thank you very much, Juan! I understand and feel that way but there are significantly more pigeons in the area than falcons. I would guess that between both the mother and father falcons would bring back at least 10 pigeons/other birds in a day. But it didn’t seem to put a dent in the number of birds out there.
