Has anyone else visited Fantasy Canyon a little south of Vernal, Utah?

We discovered this place while spending some time in the Vernal area. It is a pretty small BLM managed area surrounded by oil/gas facilities. Here quickly eroding sandstones and mudstones have produced an array of intricate and fantastically shaped outcrops.

I've been there once. Neat little area! Felt like a bit of a maze getting to it, but I'm always a sucker for neat rock formations. Very otherworldly. Definitely worth seeing if you're in the area to see Dinosaur national monument.

Thankfully I did not see any of the pygmy rattlesnakes that the restroom signed warned about.

I don't recall ever hearing about it until we saw it referenced in local visitor's information. We felt like it was a little hidden gem. Not enough to make a specific trip to see, but well worth visiting if already in the area.

I think I saw it referenced first at https://www.americansouthwest.net/ and since I was making a loop through Utah and passing by it anyways, I made the slight detour. Agreed though, not worth a dedicated trip unless you're already nearby.

Went there several years ago while visiting the Vernal area. Don't remember when I first learned of it, but it was at least ten years ago. There are lots of similar spots scattered about, some widely known, others not so much. I seek them out and try to include them in my travels.
