p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Backyard Roadrunner

This Roadrunner has taken up residence in our backyard. Seems to like eating the lizards. I have seen Roadrunners several times before but they don't stay. This one has been here for five days. I hope he is planning to move in.

Also posted in the 200-600 thread in the Sony forum.

Looks like it's become used to you Dave and that's allowing you to get some excellent images of it. Hope it finds a mate and sets up it's nest in your yard. Have you named it?

Great photos.

I grew up in the Los Angeles area a long time ago, before Poway was a city. I had to look up the name on a map.

Great shots Dave! I hope he moves in and gives you even more great opportunities.
You and Bob need to get your new friends together someday to make movie.

Yes, Poway is fairly new. Founded in 1980, 20 years before I was here.

The Road Runner is better at catching lizards than I am.

Sorry, Road Runners want a desert climate. Louisiana is not a desert.

I haven't seen the Road Runner for a few days.
It may have hit the road and run away.

Yes, I like that one too. He was so close he did not fit in the frame.

Really enjoyed viewing these, Dave, as I have only seen them at a distance.

Thanks Fred. Roadrunners are pretty common in this area but still not often seen. They are pretty skittish and usually run away at top speed.

Very cool shots of a bird not often seen here. Well done and congrats on the family addition (hopefully)!

Cheers,

Greg
