Thanks. It was pretty clear that night, with many ridge lines visible. But also really windy. Even though I was tripod mounted, I ended up raising the ISO to freeze the motion of the foreground.

Very nice, particularly the last one with the purple flowers matching the purple haze.

I think the colors at Shenandoah are probably really peaking now...along with the crowds.

The ridgelines are really amazing. I've seem them from the park, and also flown over them when traveling through Dulles Airport. They just keep going on.

On this trip I was also amazed at the dynamic range we can get out of modern sensors. All the pictures in the thread were single shot captures. Of course I did some highlight/shadows work in post-processing. A few years ago I would have need a bracketed set of exposures to capture the light.

Beautiful shots! I went there for the sunrise this morning. I was mostly near the Thornton Gan entrance area.The colors are not quite there yet, I would say another week.
