The fledgelings are learning the art of prey transfer. It was fun to watch them fly, but every now and then they miss the cue

Here is just one picture. I am sure the other 50 or so photographers will post their shots.

That must be a super mouse there, just the cape was missing

. You certainly captured the moment there - excellent job, Dan! I was standing in a bad position, and some tall trees covered that particular action... Oh, well.

It was quite an experience seeing the fledgeling WTK flight training.

The best kept birding site in SoCal does not seem to be so secret anymore. There were about 50 other photographers there. I admire how all of us respected social distancing. With my limited mobility, I came in quite late and just stayed in one spot. Luckily, some action was visible in my spot.

Dave,

It was the luck of the draw. The place was crowded with about 50 other photographers and I had to settle for a socially distanced
empty spot. There were tall trees that blocked the view for some of the photographers

Dan, what was the actual shutter speed for that image? Whatever it is that is displayed there on the exif is for sure not correct...

Hi Joshua,

I posted the image after a quick crop on Photoshop. I then ran it through my Topaz AI suite when I had time and replaced the image. I noticed the funky numbers so I updated the image comment.

Here is a screen shot from Opanda stats of the original image

This was the original EXIF before I ran the image through my Topaz suite

When I have time, I will add a cape on the mouse

With the ratchetting grip of the WTK's talons and the 50 foot fall, I do not thing the vole would have a long and productive life.
