This gull and it's mate were resting on one of the railings at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY a few days ago. You can see some fungus coming out of it's nostril. It's mate was also ill and looked even more exhausted as it was off it's feet and on it's belly. I saw them again yesterday and they were busy eating clams and crabs so I'm thinking there getting better.
