I photographed this green heron at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside NY yesterday morning.

It was walking along one of the bridges and my friends had spotted it. They had gotten there photos and were observing. I asked them if they minded my approaching it which they did not. I took my camera off the tripod and crawled up close and then sat down. I tilted the LCD on my camera up at 45 degrees and composed these images with the lens plate resting on the deck. Eventually it walked over to one of the railings and then peeked out before diving for prey.

The first two images for me, Morris! What is the bluish lower part there in those? Is that the color of the water or is that something artificial?

The blue is the deck of the bridge out of focus except at it's feet.
