These stunning little birds were visiting the Creek at Kissena Park here in New York City. It is mostly a subterranean Creek that both feeds Kissena Lake and exits it. There is a short section where it's on the surface where it irrigates berry bushes and wildflowers thus attracting the parks wildlife and this photographer. It was a blazing hot day when I took these photos. Next time I'll see what the view is from the stream bed so I can soak my feet and cool off.

All with Fuji X-T3, Fuji 1.4x TC, Fringer Pro II adapter, Sigma 150-600 C for Canon and cropped for composition.

The captures are great and the colors of the tanager are amazing, Morris. Just the feather of the bird looks scraggly... No reflection on your photography, of course.

Those reds are a sight to behold...with the Cardinal, the S. Tanager are two birds missing from the far west.

Beautiful set! Lots of body language in #6. I am so jealous...in NYC? I live out in the country (Virginia) and never see them.

Yes these are taken in New York City, an absolutely wonderful place for bird photography. Roger Peterson did most of his work in our Central Park.

Great shots Morris of a lovely bird. One I find very challenging unless you have perfect light as the color is so vivid, much like the indigo bunting. Well done.
