The 9th shot is a mega-crop just to try and show how with its sharp claws, the muskrat is able to pull the insides of the large pond snail out of its shell to eat.

These are very nice photos of a muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus).

Interesting animal.

Amazing feet.

Nice set. You have quite a collection of gear.

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks. I don't have quite a collection of gear. Some of those are old shots with gear I used to have.

Well done Tony, you have caught some very interesting behavioral shots.

Those claws are sharp alright. My favorite of the set is #10, showing nice green, smooth bokeh and the reflection of that rat. Well-captured, Tony! The question is right now, are you sticking with the m 4/3 format in the foreseeable future? Of course, we know that the camera will still works, long after that company has disappeared, even if it does, but repairs and service will be questionable. Just curious than anything else...

Thanks Joshua. For the foreseeable future the Oly will do everything I want, and still has some features that I use that are not available on any other camera. I could care less about repairs and service.

It will be interesting to see how good the Oly 150-400 f/4.5 will be, with giving you an optional 2,000mm f/11. Of course a possible price of $8,800US could be a major deterrent.
