Hello all,
I haven't posted here in a while and decided to share one of my latest efforts at a simple, classic portrait. Your thoughts and comments are always welcome.
Technical details for those inclined:
Fujinon XT4, 90mm lens @ 5/6
Key: 35" Gridded Deep Parabolic Softbox
Fill: Large PLM with front diffusion
Kicker: 52" Strip with Grid
Background: 30deg grid
A classic but very well-executed portrait, Evan! I like pretty much all aspects of that image. But an extreme nit-picking point here, there is a little bit of an uneven and a tad brighter area in the background right at his right hand pocket. It can be evened out using PS in seconds. Again, I was trying hard there .
Very nice. I like the dark background, and the dark uniform lends this a classic looks that reminds me of those Civil War portraits of military people.
Good to see you posting again. Really strong portrait. The slightly lower camera angle gives the subject even more stature. Perfect lighting and just enough separation from the background so it doesn't all block up but still retains that mood. Voted
As is so often with your portraits, Evan, this one is exquisite as well. What has captured my attention is how meticulously well kept his uniform is, and the contrast with the relatively "worn" looks of his face. Lottsa miles, there; lots of exposure there, I'm willing to bet. And offered in his service to his and our Country. I salute you, Sir(s).
I'll leave the C&C to more experienced portrait shooters, but I always enjoy seeing your portraits posts as they are shot in a timeless style and well executed.
