They are more often than not high up in the eucalyptus trees feeding on the psyllids that are pests to the trees. You can hear there calls, but are hard to see, always a delight to get some good shots of them.
Yes, Striated Pardalotes are pretty much throughout Oz.
I have a friend that lives in Orange, its 9°c today.
