Sequim is proud of the several small several small elk herds that roam its borders. I was surprised when I unexpectedly walked up on this herd in a clear-cut area in my "backyard".

Very Nice Stephen. I hope the hike to find them left you some energy for the rest of the day

Wow I never knew Skwin (OK, ok ) had elk. I remember reading it as famous for its lavender and crab festival. Had a nice lunch at then Lipperts Cafe (a converted small church). Looks like now the new restaurant is known as Blondie's Plate.

That's cool--what a great abstract tangle of antlers! You did well capturing them too.

Thanks for posting.

Morris...
... wasn't any hike at all. This was in a clear-cut area on the banks above the Dungeness River less than a half mile from my house. It is an area I go to frequently to try to get bird pictures. Quality of light was nice because it was late afternoon.

Dalite...
...Sequim is still famous for its lavender festival, which would normally be about to start, but haven't anything about it yet. But then, I've been isolating for a week. Blondies Plate is my favorite in town. It has an incredible Mac-n-Cheese.

Bruce...
...looking forward to seeing you in a few years. Lots of migrating waterfowl here in the Fall and Winter.

Kim...
...Thank you. The grass is so tall I had a hard time getting high enough to capture an unobstructed head.

Birdie...Thank you.

that is so interesting, Stephen. I had the pleasure of taking pictures of the American elks and the Tule elks, but not these and Roosevelt elks.
thanks for sharing
