p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Midshipman in the grasp of a GBH

I'm not sure this is the proper technical term for this fish but that's what all the locals call them. Had a pretty decent morning shooting GBH's and eagles going after this fish. On low tide these fish get trapped in the pools of water out amongst the oyster beds and then the action begins.

Great color, contrast and sharpness in these Louie. Around here we call that a dead fish

Nice little set, Louie and no doubt how things turned out for the midshipman. Everybody eats...

You found the perfect spot for this sequence.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks Morris, dead is right it didn't take long for the GBH to swallow the fish.

Great series Louie! That is one mean looking dorsal fin on the fish.

Great shots Louie. That is a nice big meal for the heron. Although they seem to be able to eat non-stop.

Great looking, meal-devouring action of the heron, Louie! There must plenty of fish in there; the heron looks fat .
