I you can capture the whole bird it makes for a better photo. Subject seem a tad out of focus.

Agreed. I'd crop some of the background out as well. Use the rule of thirds as well. I love owls!

Excellent photo. The eyes are in focus which is most important. Possibly focus was on the branch yet it is fine for me.

I really like the picture! The bokeh is great as well. As requested, 2 critiques: You should not have cut off the end of the tail, and next time put focus directly on the bird to achieve critical focus.
