Was hoping for a colorful sunset, but as often happens, nature has a way of throwing curve balls. I was pretty happy with the conditions even if the sunset itself sort of fizzled....

Very pretty, I like the progression from the whole, a bit messy, scene to the narrower view with the rays.

Thanks Sean! I got criticized on another forum for posting too many images (with the same sequence). The light was changing fast and I like the first one (wider angle) due to the rays going up, but then thought a bit longer focal length made sense. Glad you liked it!

Yes, I love colorful sunsets, but God's rays are a nice consolation prize for sure!

They are less dramatic, perhaps, but somehow at least as special to me as the Western mountains. Glad you like them too!

I'm always learning compositions so seeing how a scene can be dissected is great for me. I'm not surprised someone fussed at you, but the good news is, they're wrong.
