All the bright lights in the distance are from the Port of Long Beach which is the second busiest port in the US. Island Grissom is in the background on the right. It's one of the artificial islands, named in honor of astronaut Virgil "Gus" Grissom. And was constructed to conceal an oil drilling rig for the THUMS consortium.

It was maybe ~12:30am at the Belmont Shore beach area. I was there at 11pm but there wasn't really any waves or bioluminescence going on. And so people were mostly leaving but I stayed just to relax and then around midnight the current must have change cause then waves started coming in and the nicer blue lights started forming.
