It's not strong as a portrait, but it does make a great statement of the times, given your explanation. She's caught up in the midst of what's going on around her. Black and white was also a good choice to better convey the mood.

I really like the tonality of this image! A very "chrome like" sheen to the steel/iron cross beams. That is the best term I can find to express the look.

Great tonality and great pose but somehow the composition is a little bit odd for my taste. It is easier said then done, of course, since I don't know the shooting circumstances but somehow, if you had changed your position more to the left, it would have made a great image even better.

Good thoughts! Truth is the it was the only way to get the shot where the light was on her face and able to get all the graffiti in the shot we wanted.
