I live in Bend & we have in the last few years seen Anna's overwinter which means taking tempertures to 0 or below degree F. It is a pain to keep the feeders from freezing but if the sun comes out, they will feed. Starting about now, the rufouses will arrive but at least in my neighborhood, the predominate species will be the Annas whereas they were really rare less than 10 years ago. I had a male Anna last year who wouldn't let the rufouses near which is against the standard wisdom. As far as yearly migrating from the south, the question with Annas is still up in the air.
