I have about a dozen shots I'd love to print large and hang, but there's not enough room in my home.

I do have some wildlife shots printed with the Xpozer system, I may just replace those prints with some of these but they use only a matte finish and some would be better with gloss.

What do you do with your images to solve this?

Thanks,
BOB

Personally, I don't print my own work for display at home. A lot cheaper that way.

I used to have my own personal gallery for over ten years. It was great. I love the process of printing. Just for fun.
Now I am retired, moved to SD, new house, not small but no personal gallery. I don‘t print any more myself but using canvas, first with Costco, but I found out the Canvasdiscount has been doing a good job for canvas and acrylic. They reprint what ever I don’t like. I hang some on wall. The rest are on easels. On each big easel, I put 3 or 4 pix over one another. Every so often, I would just switch them. In my personal „office“ I display a giant 40x60 inch just to make a point.
BTW I Print both wild life and landscapes.

I've had a few prints made, but for the most part I just share them with friends/family digitally and crop them for use as PC wallpapers. Gives me something to look at in between spreadsheets!

Some interesting ideas, thanks.

Thanks for the comments, I review on screen some times but miss the printed image!

I print and hang mostly at my office and some at my home.

For me it's a night and day experience viewing on screen vs printed hanging on a wall.

Bob, I notice that you are Africa addicted just as I am. I have been there 10 times so far. You live just minutes from me. My son family lives in Orange c. They spend almost two months with us. Took them 1 1/2 hour to drive home. If you venture to SD, let me know. I will show you my setup.

I delete my photos with a ruthless, iron fist. Over 100,000 taken and only a dozen or so I would want to print and hang. That's over a 99% deletion rate for me.

Or, just get a digital 4K LCD wall display and put a few on rotisserie with a USB drive. A high-end print is more costly than a decent large 4K LCD wall display these days.

My photography revolves around travel. I don't know if I'm a traveling photographer or a picture-taking traveler. There are a number of ways in which I share photos:
1. An on-line gallery, organized by state, that is a source of travel ideas for some people; 2. A blog with photos and commentary of my travels; 3. Photo books as gifts, especially when we made a trip together; 4. Calendars for gifts, printing the pages myself and using spiral binders; 5. "Photo Frame" rotating gallery, good for family photos; 6. Wall display at home.

Regarding wall display, I've printed matte, glossy, paper, metal, and canvas. I prefer canvas and found an acceptable printer with on-line submission and free delivery. Almost all wall "art" in my last house was my own work, a mix of framed, canvas and metal. I sold the entire package, house, furniture and "art", with a few exceptions. When my new house is complete, I'll start over with new photos on canvas.

It sounds like you’re a travelin’ man! You’ve covered pretty much all the bases with your art, congratulations!

One more idea. I used to have lots of albums. In the old time, I organized each big trip in one album and I had lots of big trips. It was before digital age. In the Last few years, I got rid of them all. Now all my pictures are neatly stored in one memory chip that is plugged in the big TV. Now I can See and show any of these picture any time. Pictures from the ice age would show up at a moment noticed.

I have found several ways to enjoy my prints. First I make a lot of prints on inexpensive 8 1/2 x 11 paper. After a shooting session, I often make a handful of prints. I could put them up on the kitchen walls with mounting putty. It is a great way to learn what I like, don't like and what worked and didn't work. After looking at them every day for a while, I believe I learned and helped improve my photography. When I was working and had an office, I also took in some of my prints in cheap frames from Michaels. I had room for about 15 prints and changed some out every few weeks.

For larger prints, it helps to standardize print sizes. I typically compose in camera and shoot a 3:2 aspect ratio. I print 12x18 on 13x19 paper or 16x24 on 17x25 paper. I have several frames and mats that are set up for these sizes. I can change out a print in under 10 minutes. I try to do at least 1 or 2 medium or large sized prints a month and keep my home displays fresh.

There are a few I’ve printed that are staples in my house that I printed on Lumachrome HD with custom frames I made with a woodworking bud.

Everything else, I print and hang them for a few years or so, then auction them off on my Facebook page. Allows me to generate a small bit of income but let’s me enjoy my own prints of my favorite images.
